Get Your Glow On with Neutrogena!

One of my favorite skincare and beauty brands, Neutrogena sent me a few products from their new Hydro Boost makeup and skincare line, just in time for me to get my summer glow on! Boosted with hyaluronic acid, these products promise to help increase skin moisture and reduce the appearance of aging and fine-lines.

The Hydro Boost Water Gel with sunscreen is my new favorite product! As someone with dry-combination skin, who knows better but still forgets to wear sunscreen, I couldn’t have asked for a better product. It moisturizes skin without giving that sticky feeling but still gives you a dewy glow.

The color for the Hydrating Tint and Hydrating Concealer I was sent were a bit too light for my summer color but the Hydro Boost was felt and appreciated! It applied so smoothly and absorbed into my skin with ease. All my dry-combo skin people know how hard it is to find a good tinted moisturizer or foundation that doesn’t just sit on the skin heavily or start cracking. I’m going to have to find this in my shade!

Dior Backstage

Dior is hosting a beauty pop-up for their Dior Backstage line in The Oculus at Westfield World Trade Center.

Attendees can make an appointment or wait on line to get their makeup done using Dior's collection of runway essentials; including their wide range of foundations, eyeshadow pallettes, lipsticks and more.

You can also shop the products you love and go, if you don't get your makeup done.

The Dior Backstage Pop-Up is running until Saturday, September 15 at 9pm

Nike Air Society - A Night of Inspiration

Nike Air Society is NikeWomen's network in New York, LA, Chicago and more recently Toronto. It's created and lead by powerful women to empower, connect and inspire creative-minded women through curated experiences and workshops.

The event I attended was "A Night of Inspiration," which was an evening of creativity and conversation. During the event, there was a panel of speakers, a group meditation, cocktails, hors d'oeuvres and so much more.

Attendees had opportunities to get skincare tips and goodies from Dr. Jart, press flowers with FloraBrook NY, create fragrances with Maha Rose NYC and choose our mantra with a keychain from Ok Real. We also got adorable backpacks from Baggu that had acrylic frames for our Polaroids.

I'm looking forward to more Nike Air Society events, in NYC or other cities. For more information check out their website.

Simply Stylist NY

I attended Simply Stylist's NY fashion and beauty conference yesterday.

Fashion and beauty lovers were greeted with complimentary manicures by the Glam app, complimentary massages by Soothe and the French Connection pop-up shop/photobooth.

Next to the massages, fashion illustrator, Holly Nichols was there to give a few selected girls a sketch of their outfit while servers walked around with delicious hors d'oeuvres. (The tuna tartare was amazing!)

After mingling, I sat in on a few talks because I was there business and pleasure. I listened to Kayln Chandler of Effie's Paper

Fabulous lifestyle blogger, Emily Men

and last but not least James Nord, CEO of Fohr Card.

I learned so much helpful information from the speakers and other guests alike. I love that everyone was so open and honest when answering questions. We even got a cute Effie's Paper mug to take home. All in all, I had a great time and met great people I hope to keep in touch with.

I'm absolutely looking forward to the next one,

Skin Clearing Face-Mask

One of my good friends Cody Dominic is a makeup artist and she told me about an amazing yet simple face mask to help clear up and moisturize skin.

Here's the mask:

1 tablespoon of aloe vera gel

1 teaspoon/ 2-3 capsules of activated charcoal

3 drops of tea tree oil

Rose water (optional)*

Tip: Use a pump bottle for less mess.

Usually I leave the mask on for 15-30 minutes but it honestly can be left on any range of time that is comfortable for you. I sometimes will leave the mask overnight just to let my skin really absorb it and be super fresh when I wash it off in the morning.

*After washing off the mask, spritz with rose water for an extra moisturizing boost.

I have normally clear skin but it has been behaving badly lately, most likely due to weather changes, and this mask has presented incredible results! I've been using this 3 times a week and once I reach results I love, it'll be a staple in my skincare regimen. Give it a try and let me know what you think.
